outlook-uber-plug-in

Not too long ago Microsoft showed off a preview of the new Outlook.com that brings some powerful features such as a refined inbox, multiple new ways to collaborate as well as support for partner add-ins. Partners can use this feature to bring their own services within Outlook, the latest partners to join the list include Evernote, Boomerang Uber and PayPal. Aside from announcing these new partners Microsoft says that it’s also expanding the preview of the new Outlook.com to a broader audience.

Partner add-ins will allow users to do much more right from the inbox, for example the Uber add-in will allow them to set an Uber ride reminder for any event on their calendar and prior to the event they will get an Uber reminder on the phone with details of the requested ride. Users just have to swipe up to confirm the ride.

PayPal’s add-in will allow for quick and easy money transfer between friends and family right through the inbox. Evernote’s add-in brings the power of this popular note-taking app into the inbox. Add-ins from more partners which include IFTTT, Yelp and Wunderlist are coming soon.

All of these add-ins are now available to those who are running Outlook on the web with Office 365 mailboxes and Outlook 2013.
