iPhone-6-review-5There has been some debate on whether or not Apple will ditch the 16GB iPhone option.a couple of months ago, it was suggested that this was the case and that Apple could start with 32GB options instead. However according to the latest report from 9to5Mac, they have verified with their sources that 16GB iPhone models will still be available.

This basically means that as far as the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are concerned, storage-wise they will remain the same as their predecessors. This means we can look forward to a base model of 16GB, followed by a 64GB model, and a 128GB at the highest-end. In fact Apple’s SVP of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller sort of hinted that the 16GB model is here to stay.

Back in June Schiller defended the 16GB model. He claimed that this was to address those who might be more price sensitive, and that the seemingly low storage could be addressed by using cloud-based services to store their files, or in the case of music there are always options such as Apple Music or Spotify where you can stream them instead of having to store them on your phone.

It is possible that one day Apple could move to 32GB as its base storage, but for now it looks like the 16GB storage option will be here to stay. Either way check back with us on the 9th of September for the details.
