Motorola will soon be launching the Moto X Play in India, the company confirmed this itself through a tweet sent over the weekend. The tweet didn’t highlight many of the device’s specifications but there was no need to seeing as how the information is already public anyway. The company is yet to provide crucial pricing and availability information for this handset though.

Moto X Play is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It supports expansion up to 128GB with microSD cards. There’s a 21 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5 megapixel front camera with video calls and selfies.

The handset also features a 5.5 inch display with 1,080×1,920 pixel resolution display protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Android 5.1 powers the device and the juice is provided by a 3,630mAh battery which Motorola says provides enough backup for 30 hours of mixed use. It also features nano-coating technology which safeguards the device against light rain and splashes.

Motorola has not yet confirmed precisely when this handset will be released for customers in India and how much they will have to pay to get their hands on one. The company is expected to team up with Verizon and introduce this handset as the Motorola Droid MAXX 2 here in the United States.
