periscope-landscape

Periscope is among the few popular apps that people are using to live stream anything and everything easily through their smartphones, the app is available for both iOS and Android but ever since it was launched Periscope has only allowed users to broadcast in portrait mode. There’s nothing wrong with portrait mode but there are times when users would appreciate having the ability to broadcast in landscape, they have been asking Periscope for this and it has finally delivered. The latest version of Periscope for iOS and Android brings broadcasting in landscape.

Viewers can either continue holding their device in portrait mode or switch to landscape in order to match the broadcaster’s orientation to view full screen video, basically they never have to tilt their head again to watch video.

Another feature included in the new update is Share Context, it will display an indicator underneath the broadcast title detailing who shared that particular broadcast with you. Features to improve access for visually impaired users have also been added in this update.

Private broadcasting on Periscope for Android is now much easier with Mutual Follow, when users start a broadcast they can choose from a list of mutual followers to quick share the broadcast with them. This will be rolled out to iOS in due time as well.

The updated Periscope app is now available for download through the Google Play Store and the App Store.
