galaxy-grand-prime-1While the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (there’s also a Value Edition) that hails from Verizon, carrying the SM-G830P model number, has picked up its Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware update not too long ago, this does not mean that other handsets will also experience the same, although we are pleased to take note that the regular model of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, which has been slapped with the SM-G830W model number, will be on the receiving end of the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware update as well. Apparently, folks living in Canada will be the first to pick up this new firmware, where one is able to experience it via OTA (Over The Air) or through Kies.

The entire update will weigh in at approximately 590MB, and if you simply cannot wait, there are files for this update online if you know where to look, although we would recommend that you go through official channels. It must be noted that the G530F as well as the more rare G530BP (TV) models have not yet picked up the regular Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware updates, which can be a bummer – and there is no promise that they will be picking up the update anytime soon, either. I suppose patience would play a role here.
