3D Touch is one of the many new features of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, but given that it requires new hardware for it to work, it means that older iPhones are pretty much left out of the fun. However if you do want 3D Touch but don’t want to spend money on a new iPhone, you’re in luck.

Thanks to a jailbreak tweak called Forcy, it will basically bring features and functions similar to 3D Touch onto your older iPhones. However this will require you to jailbreak you phone, naturally, so if you’re not comfortable doing that then perhaps this tweak isn’t for you. However if you have no qualms of doing so, read on.

The app will be available via Cydia from the BigBoss repo and is a free download. As you can tell from the video above, you will realize that to a certain extent it is available to mimic the features of 3D Touch, although since your phone doesn’t come with the sensor, it won’t really be able to tell the difference between a hard and soft press.

However there are certain app shortcuts like launching the camera in selfie mode, video mode, slow-mo mode, and regular mode are all available. How it works is by users swiping up on an icon, and if there are extra functions available, it will show. Not all apps will have the added functions but for the most part, the core ones like messaging, camera, and browsing do, so check it out if you’d like to take it for a spin.
