htc-one-a9_ubergizmo_01The HTC One A9 is the latest phone from the Taiwanese company. With its new design, it seems to suggest that HTC might be looking to start anew, which is why the company has also recently made a promise that the One A9 will be on the receiving end of timely updates. To be more specific, it will receive Android updates within 15 days of Google releasing it.

This is according to the official HTC USA account who wrote, “Did you hear that? The Unlocked A9 will receive every Google SW update within 15 days of Nexus devices!” However as you probably read, this is only for the unlocked model, meaning that if you were to buy the phone from a carrier on contract, your updates might arrive at a different time due to need for carrier approval and whatnot.

This follows a statement HTC made earlier this month in which they claimed that releasing monthly updates was a bit unrealistic. These aren’t monthly updates, but rather updates from Google that might contain the occasional bug fix or new features or various improvements, so whenever they are released, you can expect HTC to release them for the unlocked One A9 within 15 days.

If you are considering getting the handset, HTC will be selling the phone in the US for $399.99 for the 32GB model.
