lumia 550 renderWhen it comes to high-end handsets, the Windows Phone platform has never really had that much success, least compared to the devices put out by Apple, Samsung, LG, and the likes. However when it comes to the low and mid-range devices, that’s where the Windows Phone platform really shines, as we have seen in the case of the Lumia 520.

Now if you’re looking forward to more mid-range handsets from Microsoft, @evleaks has recently tweeted a render of the upcoming Lumia 550. Microsoft is expected to host an event on the 6th of October and based on the frequency of the leaks we’ve seen so far, there is a good chance we could be learning more about the handset then.

So far the latest leak more or less confirms what we’ve seen so far. The handset does look pretty good and pretty sleek for a mid-ranger. In terms of specs, we don’t have the official ones yet but here’s a quick recap on the rumored specs for those who are curious. The Lumia 550 is said to come with a 4.7-inch AMOLED 720p HD display.

Under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset can be found along with 8GB of internal storage, 4G LTE connectivity, and the return of the onscreen Back, Start, and Search buttons as well.
