Many of us don’t give much thought to how we run as long as we can put one foot in the front of the other. However many competitive runners will probably tell you that your form is wrong and that running the wrong way could potentially lead to all kinds of injury and place unnecessary stress on parts of your body.

If you’re looking to get into running or improve your running, you might be interested to learn that Lumo has recently announced the Lumo Run. The Lumo Run is a pair of shorts designed for running and for the most part looks like a regular pair of shorts. However built into the waistband is a tiny plastic sensor that can monitor your running form.

This includes your cadence, stride length, and pelvic rotation, thus providing you with a rather comprehensive look at the way you run, along with how long your feet are touching the ground, your braking, bounce, and more. Its accompanying smartphone app can even provide audio feedback and coaching advice on the fly to help improve technique to prevent injuries.

The Lumo Run will not come cheap as far as pants are concerned and will be priced at $99 for the male version, and $119 for the female capri pants version. These prices are a pre-order special and will end in 14 days, after which they will jump to $149. The Lumo Run has been pegged for a release in the spring of 2016.
