When Google launched the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, they basically launched two Nexus handsets that feature fingerprint scanners, the first of any Nexus device. Now from what we saw in an earlier video, it turns out that the Nexus 5X’s fingerprint scanner is actually pretty fast and responsive, where touching it basically unlocks the phone straightaway.

Now prior to this, Apple’s Touch ID was considered to be one of the better sensors around, so the question is with the new iPhone 6s and the upgraded chipset and increase in RAM, shouldn’t Touch ID be more responsive too? Thanks to YouTuber SuperSaf TV, he decided to put both phones’ fingerprint sensors to the test to see which performed better.

Turns out that the Nexus 5X (and we suppose the Nexus 6P) is pretty fast and beats out the iPhone 6s and Touch ID by a very tiny margin, but we suppose a victory is still a victory. As you can see in the video above if you were to look at the phones side-by-side, you might not be able to tell which was faster.

However when slowed down, it is clear that the Nexus 5X managed to unlock the phone faster, possibly due to the fact that it skips the need to display the lockscreen which is what Apple had done with the iPhone 6s. So if you are considering either the Nexus 5X or the 6P, you can rest assured that the fingerprint sensor is pretty fast.
