blackberry-vienna-androidThe BlackBerry PRIV is the company’s first Android smartphone and it features an interesting design. It is definitely not the company’s first slider phone, but it is the company’s first slider phone in the past few years. The hardware of the phone is impressive and for the most part we liked it.

Now if you’re not necessarily a fan of the PRIV’s design, you might have heard that BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen had promised that more phones were in the works, and it looks like we might have caught a glimpse of one of them. Thanks to the folks at CrackBerry, they have received a photo that allegedly shows the rendering of an unannounced BlackBerry phone.

The device has been codenamed Vienna (the PRIV was known as Venice) and based on the design, it certainly looks like BlackBerry will be sticking to a more traditional BlacKBerry design. Given the design of the PRIV and the Passport, it’s nice to see BlackBerry (sort of) return to their roots.

We can’t be sure if these renders are the real deal, but like we said BlackBerry did promise more handsets in the future so it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that this could be it. Details of the Vienna are scarce at the moment save for its design, but do take it with a grain of salt for now and hopefully more details will surface soon.
