Apple Pay hasn’t gone through global expansion just yet but there are plans to gradually expand the relatively new payments service to other markets as well. It has long been rumored that Canada is going to be one of the first few international markets for Apple Pay and there’s a report out of Canada today which claims that Apple Pay launch in the country has been set for November 17th.

According to a report customer service representatives with American Express have confirmed “numerous times” when contacted over the phone that Apple Pay is going to be launched in Canada on November 17th.

It merits mentioning here that both American Express and Apple Pay have not made a formal announcement regarding the launch day as yet, but with Apple Pay it’s usually a soft launch, with banks and financial institutions revealing that support has gone live the day it’s ready to go public.

Apple did say late last month that it will expand Apple Pay to Canada and Australia in a partnership with American Express. While there appears to be movement as far as Canada is concerned, there have been no updates on expansion plans for Australia, which was also expected to be completed before the end of this year.
