yahoo-firefoxEveryone loves birthdays – it is a day where we celebrate life, and being one year older – and hopefully wiser, too. In order to commemorate Firefox’s 11th birthday this week, Firefox users who are based in the U.S. will be able to enjoy an exclusive new desktop search experience that would make searching stuff on the web a whole lot easier and intuitive, thanks to a collaboration with Yahoo.

Yahoo has taken the opportunity and liberty to reinvent the header as well as bring both image and video results to the front and center. In other words, whenever you perform a search with Yahoo for say, famous people and movies, your eyes will be greeted by a strip of related videos and images right smack across the top of the page.

This is partly inspired by the redesigned Yahoo mobile search experience, which allows Yahoo Search in Firefox to offer nothing but the most relevant results right in front for you to be as productive as possible without having to sift through tons and tons of photos. This pretty much sounds a whole lot more convenient than before, right? It would also make picking up the latest movie information with IMDB, checking out movie times and purchase tickets with Fandango, or even listening and purchasing the latest music from iTunes a snap, among others.
