asus-logoThe folks over at ASUS do not only roll out high powered computers as well as a tablet or two, they also happen to delve into this particular market known as smartphones. Having said that, we have heard whispers of ASUS working on the ZenFone 3, at least that is what several anonymous “Taiwan-based supply chain makers” have been said to be doing. It will still take some time before the ASUS ZenFone 3 hits the market though.

Assuming the latest rumors concerning the ASUS ZenFone 3 are to be believed, then it should hit the markets some time in the middle of next year – that is, either in May or June. Since it will be a flagship device, you can be sure that it will come packed with its fair share of features, and whispers have it that the ZenFone 3 will be the first device of its kind that boasts of a fingerprint scanner.

ASUS CEO Jerry Shen also did make a mention of that feature way back in March earlier this year. Fingerprint sensors tend to reside in flagship devices so far, with a smattering of mid-range handsets as well, and it looks likely that these will be more and more common in the future due to lowering prices of the component as mass production ramps up. Still, until official hardware specifications are released, do take this with a pinch of salt.
