In 2014, Nintendo launched Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U which is a game based on The Legend of Zelda franchise. However earlier this year it was announced that Nintendo was working on a 3DS port called Hyrule Warriors Legends and if you’re interested in seeing what the game has to offer, an extended trailer for the game has been released.

The trailer is rather long at 5 minutes so safe to say that you should be able to get a very good idea of what to expect upon its release. For those who are unfamiliar with Hyrule Warriors, let alone the 3DS Legends version, basically this is a hack and slash action game with the settings and characters being based on The Legend of Zelda series.

This is obviously a very big departure from the Zelda series which was more of an adventure and puzzle solving game with a bit of action thrown in, but this seems to be more full out action. Now the Legends 3DS version is more than just a port of the Wii U game. There will be special features included that will take advantage of the 3DS’ controls.

The Legends game will also introduce Linkle, which back in November was officially announced as the female version of Link that would only be available on the 3DS version of the game. Hyrule Warriors Legends has been pegged for a release in 2016, and if you have some time to spare, check out the trailer above.
