d3 p24As you might have heard, Patch 2.4.0 will be released later this week. The good news is that if you’re a console gamer and you’re wondering if Blizzard might release the update later than the PC version, you can rest assured that they won’t. This has been confirmed by Diablo 3 community manager Nevalistis.

According to her comment, “The January 15th date is the start of the new season. We plan to release the patch prior to the start of Season 5. While we typically patch on Tuesdays, dates can always shift if we run into technical issues during deployment preparations. This is why we do not provide hard release dates for any patch.”

So if you game on the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4 version of Diablo 3, you can expect to get your hands on the patch this coming Tuesday. However as Nevalistis points out, while patches are typically released on Tuesday, it could potentially be delayed if there are any issues that they come across last minute or during the deployment.

However assuming that isn’t the case, you guys can look forward to the patch soon. The patch will add a bunch of new features to the game, which some are referring to as a mini expansion of sorts. There will be new rifts to explore, and there will also be a new zone in the form of Greyhollow Island.
