Nikon-D5-camera-announcedWe have been hearing rumors about the Nikon D5, but the question is when will the device be launched? CES is currently taking place and it seems like it might be a good time as any, but in the meantime it looks like Nikon New Zealand might have gotten ahead of themselves as they have prematurely announced the camera on Facebook.

The post has since been taken down but not before the folks at Nikon Rumors managed to grab a screenshot of it. Basically with the announcement, it more or less confirms that the Nikon D5 exists and that we could be learning more about the camera soon. Nikon has a booth at CES so maybe we’ll hear the official word in the coming days or weeks.

That being said, the specs of the camera were not announced. However as you can see in the screenshot, low-light capabilities is one of its highlights as Nikon is boasting about its expanded ISO sensitivity. This is in line with the rumors that claims that the Nikon D5 can sport an ISO that goes as high as 102,400.

Other rumored specs of the camera includes a 20MP FX sensor, a new focusing module, 4K video capture, and a touchscreen LCD. Take these rumors with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us soon for more updates!
