Google-Chrome-Pixel-C-26By now WiFi in laptops, phones, and tablets should have been more or less standardized. However sometimes certain things like software, or a blocked antenna could mean less than ideal performance, which seems to be the case with the Google Pixel C device, something that Google will be looking into.

According to several user reports, it seems that there are quite a few Pixel C owners who have been complaining about poor WiFi performance on the Pixel C. According to one post, “I (and others) are having slower than normal download speeds for their wireless N and AC connections. Sometimes I get half the speed I normaly would. Other times it is like 1/8th the speed. I feel this might be a software/firmware issue as my upload speed is fine. This is very odd.”

Some users have speculated that attaching the keyboard to the tablet might be the cause of the issue. Some claim that after removing the keyboard, they are noticing increased speeds in downloads, which in that case could mean that this is a hardware issue that probably can’t be patched with software.

According to a post by Google, “Want to come in here and give you all an update.  The team is investigating the issue with poor download speeds on the Pixel C.  Thanks for continuing to give us additional information such as router model and WiFI configurations.  I’ll keep this thread updated with any info I can get over here.”

So if you are experiencing similar issues with your Pixel C, then pop on over to the Google Help Forums to share your experience and post some details which will hopefully lead to it being solved faster.
