Tesla hasn’t been around for long but it has made a name for itself in the motoring world. It makes some of the best electric cars that money can buy and its next model is aimed at the mass market since it’s going to cost about $25000, it will be the most affordable electric car Tesla has ever made. The company has revealed when it’s going to start taking reservations for the Model 3 and how much customers will have to pay initially to reserve a unit.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed through Twitter that the Model 3 will be partly unveiled on March 31st and that the company is going to start accepting reservations for the new car in stores the very same day. Customers will be able to make reservations online starting April 1st.

He also confirmed that there will be no signature series model for the Model 3 as there has been in the past for the Model S and Model X. The reservation amount is going to be the same for all customers, they will need to pay $1000 initially to reserve a Tesla Model 3.

Customers will have to wait a while since deliveries aren’t expected to begin before early 2017 so they are going to have ample time after putting down the initial deposit to consider whether or not they’re fully ready to make a complete shift to an electric car. Tesla will certainly hope that they do.
