ac vr experienceWith virtual reality set to become the next big thing in terms of how we consume our media, we suppose it shouldn’t really come as a surprise to learn that Ubisoft has recently announced what they are calling the Assassin’s Creed VR Experience. As the name suggests, this will be a virtual reality experience based around the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Ubisoft’s announcement was made during AMD’s GDC press conference, and Ubisoft also announced that they will be producing this VR experience with Fox and Practical Magic. Now before you get too excited and think that this will be a virtual reality version of an Assassin’s Creed game, we’re afraid we must disappoint you.

Practical Magic’s VR and director of VR experience Matthew Lewis has clarified that this VR experience is not a game. Instead based on what he said, it sounds like it could be some kind of film. Apparently the footage for the experience was filmed alongside the Assassin’s Creed movie, so we’re guess it’s probably just some footage.

According to Ubisoft spokesperson, Michael Beadle, “We’re excited about the announcement of the Assassin’s Creed VR Experience and we look forward to working with New Regency, Fox and Practical Magic to share more in the future.”
