It was only a few weeks ago that Facebook announced that it will enable publishers of all sizes regardless of where they’re located in the word to post Instant Articles on the social network starting April 12, 2016. To make it easier for publishers to do that it has teamed up with the largest online publishing platform, WordPress, to offer publishers a free plugin for Instant Articles. The plugin will enable WordPress blogs to post Instant Articles on Facebook.

Facebook’s free WordPress plugin makes the process of generating and publishing Instant Articles from WordPress very easy. It has been working with a small group of WordPress publishers to beta test the plugin, which also supports native autoplay video aside from social and interactive graphic embeds.

Instant Articles will be opened up to all publishers regardless of their size and location next month. Publishers who use the standard WordPress template will be able to activate this plugin right out-of-the-box to create Instant Articles. Facebook’s new plugin is open source and it encourages the developer community to participate in its development.

Facebook will continue to iterate this plugin over the coming weeks so that it’s fine-tuned in time for the release. Instant Articles go live for all publishers on April 12th, 2016, the very day Facebook’s F8 developer conference for 2016 takes place.
