Twitter isn’t really as fast at updating its desktop apps as it is for mobile apps, but that’s to be expected since the majority of its users rely on the mobile apps. Today the microblogging service has finally released a new update for the official Windows 10 app that brings several new features as well as a new design for this desktop app.

The app for Windows 10 Mobile also gets the same changes that are included in Windows 10 for desktop. All of the latest Twitter features are included, features like GIF support, Moments, group chat, muting and more.

Desktop users get a new dark theme while for mobile users the theme will change depending on their system settings. The overall design and user interface improvements are very nice and make the app seem more complete than it did before.

It’s also a truly universal app for Windows 10 so users should expect the same experience across desktop and mobile devices running Microsoft’s latest OS.

The updated Twitter app is live now and readily available for download on Windows 10-powered smartphones and desktops for free via the Windows Store.

More features and improvements are promised for this app in the future. Users are encouraged to tweet using #twitterforwindows to provide their feedback about the app.
