xbox-360-espn-app-shut-down

If the enhanced gaming experience and the next-generation games weren’t enough to make you switch from Xbox 360 to Xbox One perhaps this will. Microsoft and ESPN are retiring the ESPN app for Xbox 360. The app will shut down on March 23rd as per a notice posted in the app so if it’s absolutely essential for you to have access to this app via a gaming console then it’s time that you put money down for an Xbox One.

ESPN for Xbox 360 was released back in 2010 and it provided content that included live sporting events, highlights, and personalized scores. Live programming from all ESPN networks was added later enabling Xbox 360 owners to watch shows like SportsCenter.

Only the ESPN app for Xbox 360 is being shut down, the app for Xbox One will continue to function without any problems, even the notice posted in the app informing users about the impending shutdown implores that they “check out ESPN on Xbox One.”

If you’re one of those Xbox 360 owners who haven’t upgraded to the new console yet then you can thank your lucky stars because Microsoft has once again cut the Xbox One’s price. As part of the spring sale, a variety of Xbox One bundles are available for $299 a piece for a limited time.
