There is a lot of interest in Tesla’s new electric car. The Model 3 is the company’s first mass-market all-electric car. Customers seem to like it as almost $12 billion in orders have been placed already even though the company has only gone through with part 1 of the Model 3 unveil. CEO Elon Musk has been dropping hints about the car and he has said that the Model 3 features “spaceship” steering controls.

Tesla unveiled the Model 3 last week, the cars that it showed off had a huge landscape display in the center, and no controls on the steering. There weren’t any gauges or displays or buttons on the steering wheel suggesting that Tesla wasn’t quite ready to reveal the entire cockpit experience.

Someone tweeted at Elon Musk that it would be cool if the Model 3 had a “Ferrari-like” steering wheel with move stick functions and paddle shifters behind the wheel. To that, Musk responded as follows: “Wait until you see the real steering controls and system for the 3. It feels like a spaceship.”

Well, Musk certainly has got me very excited to see what Tesla has kept under the wraps. The CEO hasn’t confirmed yet when part 2 of the Model 3 unveil will take place, it might take some time considering the fact that the Model 3 isn’t expected to hit the production line until next year.
