Last year the folks at Sphero released a toy for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the form of the BB-8 droid. This is basically a toy based on the BB-8 droid from the movie and it is pretty cute. Users will be able to control the toy as it rolls around and it even emits the same beeping sounds from the droid in the movie.
Now if you own the BB-8, you might be interested to learn that Sphero has recently added a new feature to the toy. Dubbed “Watch With Me”, this basically enables the BB-8 to watch the Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie with you and it will even react to scenes and what is going on in the movie, kind of like if you were to watch with friends or family.
Apparently this feature isn’t linear meaning that if you were to skip ahead of certain scenes, the droid will know what scene is currently playing and will continue to react accordingly. In addition to reactions, the companion app will also pop-up videos that will give movie watchers additional information about the movie and characters on the screen, so if you’re new to the Star Wars franchise, this could come in handy.
