nintendo-vans-sneakers-01_awv5ybNintendo’s franchises are very popular. In fact many have in the past suggested that maybe Nintendo should quit making hardware and start focusing more on their software efforts instead, but that’s a debate for another day. That being said, the popularity of Nintendo’s franchise also means that it lends itself to the opportunity of being used for all kinds of cross-promotions.

Now if you fancy yourself something of a sneakerhead, you might be interested to learn that Nintendo and Vans have announced that they will be teaming up to create Nintendo-themed sneakers. Yup, you read that right, soon you will be able to sport a brand new pair of kicks with Mario and other Nintendo characters plastered across it.

There will be a ton of designs available for fans to choose from, ranging from a collection of all of Nintendo’s characters, to the NES controller, to Princess Peach, to 8-bit Mario, Duck Hunter, Donkey Kong, and etc. No word on pricing just yet, but we expect that they shouldn’t really cost more than your average pair of Vans sneakers, or maybe a bit more due to the collab.

In terms of availability, it is expected to be launched in June but there is no word on whether they will be exclusive to any particular shoe store, but either way if you are a Nintendo fan who’s also a sneakerhead, this collection will be worth keeping an eye out for.
