oneplus-2-review-04Back in the day, it would take you hours to charge your phone to full, but thanks to technology, we can now charge our phones to full in a fraction of the time. This is thanks to charging technology like Qualcomm’s Quick Charge, but Qualcomm isn’t alone as Oppo has their own take on it called VOOC, and Samsung has their Fast Charge.

Now it could it be that OnePlus could be coming up with their own charging technology as well, or at least be basing it off Qualcomm’s tech? According to a recent sighting, it seems that OnePlus has recently filed a trademark for the name “Dash Charge”. Unfortunately apart from the name, it is anyone’s guess as to what the trademark could stand for.

However considering that the term “Dash” is used to indicate speed, we can only assume that this could be OnePlus’ take on fast charging technology. Could it be the Dash Charge will finally bring fast charging technology to the company’s smartphones, a feature that was sadly lacking from their predecessors?

Like we said, it’s anyone’s guess but with many high-end smartphones supporting Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology or some kind of variant, it would be surprising if OnePlus were to omit this feature from their upcoming OnePlus 3 which should be due for a launch sometime this year.
