Star Trek Online, a very popular online MMORPG, is going to be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this fall. The game will arrive on consoles with additional graphical upgrades including but not limited to modern lighting technologies that improve the overall look of the game. The game’s user interface also gets a complete overhaul prior to its arrival on the best consoles money can buy.

It’s these modern lighting technologies that will enable Star Trek Online to look better on consoles than it did when it first came out. These changes have been described as “more immersive” and “beautiful” by executive producer Stephen Ricossa.

PC players shouldn’t feel left out before it has also been confirmed today that all of these additional upgrades that have been developed for the console release are also going to be released for the PC version of Star Trek Online later this year.

The entire user interface of this game has been overhauled and the entire back-end systems have had a complete re-write. The developers aimed to create a fully streamlined back-end system while creating an entirely new experience around the console controller.

We can expect to hear more about the title’s launch on consoles at the E3 gaming convention next month. No confirmed release date has been provided, only that Star Trek Online will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this fall.
