Samsung-Galaxy-S7-edge-display-2_900

There are a lot of rumors circulating these days about the Galaxy Note 7 as that’s the next flagship handset due from Samsung. However, the rumor mill often throws up a rumor or two about the 2017 flagships from Samsung. The latest claims that the Galaxy S8 is going to feature a 4K Ultra HD display as well as a dual camera setup on the back.

It won’t be surprising to see the Galaxy S8 feature a 4K UHD display particularly if Samsung introduces it with the Galaxy Note 7. If the next Note flagship has a UHD display then the chances of the next Galaxy S series handsets having the same display are quite high.

Samsung would want to bring 4K displays to its flagship smartphones owing to the increasing popularity of virtual reality. Samsung is heavily invested in the VR market and by adding 4K displays to its handsets it will be able to provide a more immersive mobile VR experience.

The rumored dual camera setup will improve the device’s imaging prowess and allow users to take true-to-life photos and videos. Even the iPhone 7 is expected to boast a dual camera setup.

It goes without saying that it’s too soon to be taking rumors about the Galaxy S8 seriously. We have a long time to go before that handset becomes due and it’s likely that Samsung could make changes to the product’s specifications and hardware prior to unveiling it early next year.
