katSome of you guys might recall that several years ago, IsoHunt announced that it would be shutting down, or at least the version of IsoHunt at that time would be shut down, and for a while it was, but it didn’t take too long before a new version of the website sprung to life. Now it seems that the team behind the website has give KickAssTorrents a new lease on life.

It appears that the team behind IsoHunt has created a mirror website of KickAssTorrents following reports that the website had its domain seized and its alleged owner arrested. Reports are claiming that the mirror website isn’t perfect yet, but given that it is brand new, there are bound to be some teething problems.

The IsoHunt team said, “It’s not perfect but if users need to save and archive something it’s time. We don’t know how long it can last, but at least it’s something.” This is actually not the team’s first time at bringing a dead website back to life. When The Pirate Bay was shut down, the team helped create mirrors of the website, thus keeping it functional, at least in name.

Like we said in our previous post, shutting down one piracy website is basically like a game of whack-a-mole where getting rid of one is only a temporary fix as new websites will pop up to fill the void, but we suppose the movie studios, record labels, and publishers still need to try.
