Gold has long been reported as an upcoming color variant of the OnePlus 3 and it has finally been officially confirmed by the company today. This new color variant is called “Soft Gold,” OnePlus says it’s not your “typical gaudy gold smartphone” because it has toned down the color for a light and elegant look.

OnePlus explains that to complement this toned down gold hue it went with a subtle texture that’s not unlike holding “fine, silky-soft sand.” The company claims that press photos and product renders don’t do it justice, you really have to see it to believe it.

The Soft Gold OnePlus 3 is going to be available in the United States starting at 12 PM ET on July 26th. Customers will be able to place their orders for this handset on OnePlus.net. The handset is going to be available in other regions on August 1st.

In true OnePlus fashion, the company hypes this device by saying that supply is limited, so customers who want one shouldn’t waste any time in picking one up.

Detailed launch information and timings can be found on the official OnePlus forums. Head over to the company’s website tomorrow if you’re convinced that you absolutely must purchase the OnePlus 3 in Soft Gold.
