instagram_eventsInstagram used to be home to only photos, although in more recent times, the company has introduced video. In fact the company even extended the length of a video on Instagram, meaning that instead of mere snippets, users could upload and share longer clips which might encourage them to stay in the app instead of heading to YouTube.

Expanding on their video offerings, Instagram has recently announced a new Events channel under the Explore tab. According to Instagram, this Events channel will show you videos based on what it thinks you might like, similar to photos in which it will determine your likes based the photos you like, who you follow, and so on.

According to Instagram’s description of the Events channel, “This channel collects the best videos from concerts, sporting events and more so you can feel like you’re in the front row. Like the rest of Explore, this new channel is personalized for you and highlights events you might like.”

Unfortunately it would seem that this feature is only available in the US for now, so for those of you not from the US, you won’t be able to see this new feature just yet, but as Instagram states, they are planning to bring it to the rest of the world soon.
