LG-V10-03So we know that the LG V20 is real and that it will launch with Android 7.0 Nougat in tow. We have also received confirmation that it will be unveiled on the 6th of September, and interestingly enough it seems that LG is slowly teasing the specs of the phone ahead of the official reveal because in their latest announcement, they revealed that the phone will pack quad DACs.

The company also claims that this will mark the first time a smartphone will be feature quad DACs, which we guess would appeal to those who have a preference for higher audio quality. According to LG, “A Quad DAC delivers a crisp and clear sound that comes closest to a live performance when using compatible wired headphones. The sound is superior to that produced by a traditional DAC as it can reduce up to 50 percent of ambient noise levels.”

Now whether or not the difference in sound can be heard and appreciated by most users remains to be seen, but we suppose at the very least the technology is there for those who can. According to Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company, they will be working with ESS Technology who specializes in high-performance analog and audio devices.

He says, “Higher quality audio is simply the natural evolution of the smartphone, as the industry moves toward a more holistic multimedia consumption experience. We’re pleased to continue this long-term partnership with ESS and bring best in class audio to LG V20 users.”
