pandoraThere are many music streaming services available out there. However they do differ in terms of features, such as Pandora which is technically a music streaming service, although how it works is different from say Apple Music or Spotify. However that could change soon because a report from The Wall Street Journal claims that Pandora is near to closing a deal.

This deal will apparently give Pandora the rights to turn itself into an on-demand service. As it stands, it’s more of an internet radio service where you can’t really choose your songs, you just pick your genre and preferences and it will find something it thinks you will like. However the report claims that Pandora has been in talks with the labels which should give them the right to stream on-demand music.

It’s interesting that it has actually taken Pandora this long to get here, but we guess with Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal gaining steam, we guess the company is looking to expand its offerings. According to the report, there will be basically three tiers that users can choose. There will be a free tier along with two paid subscription tiers, but the differences are unclear at this point.

Also the report suggests that Pandora’s new on-demand service could be launching as soon as next month. Take it with a grain of salt, but if you are a Pandora subscriber then perhaps these new features might be of interest to you.
