google-pixelA couple of days ago, Google revealed that they were having trouble keeping up with the demand for their new Pixel phones. Apparently this was because demand for the new phones had exceeded Google’s expectations, which is actually a pretty good problem to have, and because of that some orders are going out a bit later than expected.

So much so that according to a post on Reddit, some Pixel customers are reporting that they have received emails from Google offering them $50 in Play Store credit to help make up for the delay in shipping.

The email reads, “Thank you for your recent purchase on Google Store. We’re really excited for you to experience our new products, but we have some not-so-great news: It’s going to take a little longer for you to receive your package than we expected. We know this can be frustrating, but the good news is that we’ve shipped your order and it’s on its way.”

“You should’ve already received a shipment confirmation email from us. We’re also going to send you a $50 Google Play credit via email soon after your package is delivered. Again, we’re so sorry — and thank you again for your order.” As some users on Reddit have confirmed, this Play Store credit can be used for subscription services like Google Play Music, so if there are no apps that you have in mind, it can be used for services as well.
