galaxy-s7-blackOne of the most popular options for Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus right now would be the Jet Black finish. This is despite the fact that this would result in a phone that is a fingerprint magnet, and also prone to scratching to the point where even Apple recommends that users buy a case to protect it. The things we do in the name of aesthetics, right?

That being said, it seems that Samsung could have something similar planned for the Galaxy S7 as well. According to a report from The Investor in Korea, word has it that Samsung has a glossy black finish planned for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. At the moment there is a black version offered by Samsung in the form of the Onyx Black which has kind of a matte finish to it, so presumably this new version will offer a more shiny surface similar to the iPhone 7’s Jet Black.

For those wondering why Samsung is still messing around with color options for the Galaxy S7 at this stage of the game, it is because the Note 7 has been officially discontinued which means that for 2016, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are the only flagship phones that are being offered by the company.

The color options, like blue coral version that was recently launched are ways to keep the phone fresh and to keep customers interested. No word on when this glossy black Galaxy S7 will be launched, but hopefully it will be soon.
