google-alloBy all accounts it seems that Google wants Allo to be their next big messenger platform. Before this Hangouts was Google’s de facto messenger app, but now that it has been relegated to business/enterprise users, Allo is Google’s new endeavor. Initial feedback of the app was underwhelming, but hopefully that will change.

In the latest update to the app, Google has brought about some fun changes that will hopefully make it more appealing to users. One of those changes includes themes. “To help you match your conversation to your mood, we’ve added background themes for your chats. Whether you’re feeling more ‘Watermelon’ or ‘Sorbet,’ choose from a range of backgrounds to compliment your style.”

Google has also introduced suggested stickers and emojis. While stickers are a part of Allo, suggested stickers and emojis basically means that whenever you type a word, Allo will be able to suggest an emoji or sticker based on that. At the moment these are features already offered by other apps, such as LINE, so it’s not exactly new, but it’s a welcome feature all the same.

Also to celebrate the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” movie, Google has launched a bunch of stickers themed around the movie that you can get your hands on. The update to Allo is available on iOS and Android, so you’ll want to update the app if you haven’t done so already.
