oneplus_3_002Tomorrow OnePlus will officially take the wraps off the OnePlus 3T. This will be the company’s new smartphone and it also looks like the handset will be replacing the OnePlus 3 because according to reports, it seems that at the moment the OnePlus 3 is being marked as out of stock ahead of the unveiling of the OnePlus 3T.

The OnePlus 3 is a decent handset and comes with some of the latest hardware specs, but the OnePlus 3T will feature even newer hardware like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821. It is also rumored to feature 8GB of RAM and come with 128GB of native storage. It will also see a bump in battery size from 3,000mAh to 3,300mAh.

We have also heard the rumors that the price tag might see an increase as well, from $400 for the OnePlus 3 to $480 for the OnePlus 3T. While we’re all for hardware refreshes, this latest refresh will no doubt upset many OnePlus 3 owners who might have probably opted to wait for the OnePlus 3T had they known it was coming out.

Given that OnePlus typically releases one flagship phone a year, many did not see this coming. We’re not sure if OnePlus plans to compensate OnePlus 3 owners or maybe offer some kind of trade-in program, but either way we’ll have to wait until tomorrow for the official details.
