Twitter has gradually been expanding its footing in the online streaming arena. It took a big step to present itself as an online video streaming destination by launching apps for the Apple TV, Xbox One, and Fire TV. The app enables users to tune into many of the streams that Twitter hosts as well as take advantage of a curated experience with tweets relevant to the stream being displayed front and center. The company has now released an app for Android TV.

The Android TV app will enable users on Google’s TV platform to watch NFL live streams hosted by Twitter as well as other streams offered from time to time. They will also be able to access curated popular tweets and even access popular Periscope broadcasts from their TVs.

Twitter has released its app for Android TV two months after it initially launched an app for Apple TV, Fire TV, and the Xbox One. These apps were released prior to Twitter’s first NFL live stream in mid-September.

Android TV may not be as popular a TV platform as the ones mentioned above, but it still powers many set-top boxes and smart TVs from manufacturers like Sony, so it goes without saying that many will take advantage of its new app to tune into NFL games.
