Uber has expanded at an exponential pace over the past couple of years but many have felt that its app got lost behind. The company has been working to improve it significantly and today it confirmed that the Uber app has been completely redesigned. The new redesigned app is going to be rolled out to Uber users across the globe over the coming week.

Not only does the redesigned app make it easier to see how much a ride is going to cost and how long it’s going to take to reach the destination but it has also been designed with an aim of keeping users within the app even after they’re hailed a ride.

The new user interface does away with the clutter for a smoother user interface. No wonder the app is noticeably faster as well. You’ll find a destination field and three shortcut buttons for quick access on the main screen once the app has been launched.

Ride types will now appear in pairs once a destination has been set, you can easily swipe left or right to opt for the ride you want. To keep users in the app longer, Uber has baked in features like integration with the smartphone’s default calendar and machine learning which predicts where you might want to go based on your recent trips.

All this and more is baked into the new Uber app which starts rolling out over the next few weeks. Some integrations will go live after the app has been released for all users across the globe.
