So this year is the first year in a while that we have not seen Ubisoft launch a major Assassin’s Creed title. However that is expected to change in 2017 because according to a video by YouTuber OBE1Plays (see video above), he has revealed that a new Assassin’s Creed game is set for a release in 2017, and that it will be launched on the Nintendo Switch console.

Given that Nintendo Switch will be released in March 2017, we can only assume that this particular title will see a launch no earlier than that. Not to mention OBE1Plays claims that the game will be launched simultaneously on the PS4, Xbox One, and the Switch, so having the game launched earlier for other consoles before the Switch is also out of the question.

Now you might be thinking whether or not this information can be trusted, and it seems that OBE1Plays has some backup from Laura Kate Dale of Let’s Play Video Games. Kate Dale has in the past been pretty accurate with her leaks and rumors, so she does have some credibility to her name.

That being said despite these rumors, we have to point out that back in September, Ubisoft’s VP of editorial Tommy François seemed to suggest that we might not even see an Assassin’s Creed in 2017 either. It is possible that Ubisoft changed their mind so until we hear otherwise, do take it with a grain of salt for now.
