About a week ago, Google began to roll out an update for its Google Keyboard on Android in which it basically transformed the app into Gboard. However we guess some are wondering if this is the real deal, or if it’s merely an update that changes the way the keyboard looks and functions? Turns out it is the real deal, according to the video Google posted above.

In the video’s description it reads, “With Gboard for Android, you can search and send information, GIFs, emoji and more — right from your keyboard.” Yup, it looks like Gboard for Android is now pretty damn official. For those who are unfamiliar, Gboard was originally launched for iOS devices earlier this year.

Essentially what it is is a keyboard app for smartphones. However it comes with built-in tools and features from Google, such as the ability to perform searches within the keyboard itself, thus saving users time from having to switch to a different app. It also supports GIFs, multilingual typing, and can autocorrect the last two words based on the context of your sentence (assuming you type like a regular person).

If you have been using Google Keyboard, the app should have been updated and changed into Gboard. If it hasn’t or if you want to download it manually, head on over to the Google Play Store.
