galaxy-s7-pearl-blackBack in November there were rumors that Samsung was planning a glossy black version of the Galaxy S7 Edge. Given the popularity and response to Apple’s Jet Black iPhone 7, and how fierce the rivalry between Apple and Samsung is, it did not really come as a surprise. Now it seems that we have a date to look forward to: the 9th of December.

This is according to a report from SamMobile who have heard from their sources that Samsung will officially launch the “Pearl Black” Galaxy S7 Edge on the 9th of December. However the launch of this particular color variant will be for South Korea. There is no word on whether or not the color option will find its way to other markets, so it is possible that for now the 9th of December date is only for the South Korean markets and that other markets will receive the option later.

As you can see from the alleged official images, this is basically the same phone as before except in a new finish. The hardware specs and features of the device will remain exactly the same as before, so we guess it’s not really worth upgrading. However we have to say that we do like the finish as it does look pretty sleek. We expect its price point to also be the same as before.
