chrysler-portal-concept-1-970x546-cOver the years, we’ve seen how car designs have evolved from boxy-looking devices, to futuristic and sleek-looking vehicles that look like they’ve been ripped out of a science fiction movie. This appears to be the concept that Chrysler is going for as the company has recently taken the wraps off the new Portal concept minivan at CES 2017.

As you can see in the images above and below, the Portal concept minivan by Chrysler certainly doesn’t look like the minivans of today. In fact if you were to drive this down the streets, you would probably be getting stares of envy instead of being brushed off as just another minivan driver.

According to Chrysler, the Portal concept is based on 20 years worth of data on the millennial demographic, which means it will have features to cater to that particular demographic. This includes LED panels around the car that can change color or animate, thus allowing users to customize it as they please. There is also a huge infotainment system on the dashboard, and a second screen that stretches across the dashboard that gets rid of the conventional instrument layout.

It will come with facial recognition and biometric technology to identify the driver, which is not only for security reasons, but also so that it can make adjustments to seat position, sound settings, mirror angles, and so on. Unfortunately for now, the Chrysler Portal is a concept, but if this is the future of minivans, sign us up!
