Samsung has only released the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge so far even though there are many devices in its lineup that are compatible with this firmware update. None of the company’s tablets have been upgraded right now despite reports that the Nougat update for the Galaxy Tab S2 is now in the pipeline. A Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 running Android 7.0 Nougat has been spotted on Geekbench which suggests that work on this update is still ongoing.

The Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 has been spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench running an Android 7.0 Nougat build. This suggests that the work is still ongoing and that Samsung might be in the final stages of testing this update for the Galaxy Tab S2 before it starts sending it out.

It merits mentioning here that it’s really that difficult to falsify a device’s model number on a benchmarking website so this could very well be a hoax, nevertheless, it would make sense for Samsung to be working on this update right now given that the Galaxy Tab S2 is currently it’s flagship Android tablet and is certainly due for a taste of Nougat.

Samsung is yet to say anything about its Nougat roadmap for tablets, particularly the Galaxy Tab S2, so we’ll have to wait for that information. The new Galaxy Tab S3 that the company is due to unveil at MWC 2017 later this month is likely going to come with Android 7.0 Nougat straight out of the box.
