It appears that the LG G5’s successor may not only get a bump in specifications and functionality but a bump in its price as well. If a new report is to be believed, the LG G6 price is going to be marginally higher than that of its predecessor due to the many improvements that the company has made to its new flagship smartphone. Pricing for the new handset is reportedly going to vary a bit in different markets.

That’s to be expected though as there are exchange rate considerations and taxes to take into account when selling smartphones in different markets across the globe.

The latest report claims that the LG G6 is going to be priced between Korean won 870,000 – 890,000 which is equal to around $770. If this is the case, the new handset will be around $50 more expensive than its predecessor which started at approximately $720.

Naturally, this is what the handset is going to cost both off-contract and unlocked. Most customers in the United States will buy it from a carrier so they will be looking at a different upfront cost than customers who pay all cash for the handsets.

LG hasn’t confirmed anything about the pricing of its next flagship smartphone at this point in time so take this report with a grain of salt. The company is due to launch the LG G6 at MWC 2017 later this month.
