Rocket League developer Psyonix has officially confirmed today that the title will soon receive PlayStation 4 Pro support. It’s going to release an update in the near future which is going to make the game take full advantage of the greater performance offered by the most powerful PlayStation console that Sony has ever created. The update is going to arrive on the same day that the Rocket League Hot Wheels DLC is released.

Psyonix is going to release an update for Rocket League on February 21st which will enable the game to run at both 1080p on a standard PS4 and 4K on the PlayStation 4 Pro at 60 frames per second in all arenas for single and two-player split-screen modes. It also says that three and four-player split-screen modes will offer 60 frames per second in most arenas in the same resolutions.

The update also includes PlayStation 4-specific technical improvements, multiple performance optimizations, and bug fixes. The Hot Wheels DLC for Rocket League is also going to be released on February 21st. Some additional free Hot Wheels-themed post-match item drops including Toppers and Antennas are onboard as well.

Psyonix promises that this is the first of many planned content updates for Rocket League in 2017 so fans of the game certainly have a lot to look forward to this year.
