While the Samsung Galaxy S8 is set for an official release on the 21st of April, it seems that there are some lucky customers who were lucky enough to be receiving their units early thanks to pre-orders. However it seems that some of these users are reporting some issues with the phone’s display, namely how it appears to sport a reddish tint.

As you can see in the image above, the phones on the left and right appear to have a slightly reddish tint to them. We’re not sure how widespread this problem is, but like we said the handset has yet to be officially received so not everyone might have gotten their orders yet, and those who didn’t pre-order obviously don’t have their phones yet, so for all we know it could be a very minor issue.

That being said, it might not necessarily be a hardware issue because an industry watcher alleges that the red tint could be the deep red technology used by Samsung for the color balance for the phone, so maybe a software patch could fix the problem. In the past we have seen early complaints when phones are released about yellow hues, but those were discovered to be glue problems that eventually went away.

In any case we did not notice any of these reddish tints during our briefing and review of the handset, but hopefully Samsung takes note of this and that the upcoming release will not present such problems.
