Many Samsung smartphones allow you to quickly launch the camera by pressing the home button twice quickly. You can’t do that on the Galaxy S8 since the device doesn’t have a physical home button. However, Samsung has linked the quick launch camera option with the handset’s power button. Press it twice quickly and the camera should be launched, ideally, but that doesn’t appear to be the case for all users.

The ability to quick launch the camera on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ by pressing the power button twice quickly appears to be available in most markets. However, a new report suggests that this feature is not available in all markets where the Galaxy S8 has been released so far.

Many of you might already be aware that Samsung’s devices get slightly different firmware releases in different markets, some firmware tend to include features that are specific to that particular market, so if the quick launch camera option is not working somewhere it’s possibly because of a software issue.

It’s not entirely clear at this point in time why Samsung appears to have decided to not enable this feature in some markets across the globe where the Galaxy S8 is already out. Hopefully, it will have an explanation for us in the near future.

If it’s not going to explain, at least one can hope that the company will rectify the matter by sending out an update which enables this feature on all Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ handsets across the globe.
