Does Microsoft have a new Surface laptop that they are planning on launching at their event in New York City later today? It seems that there is a good chance that they will, or at least that’s according to recently leaked images by Twitter user WalkingCat (via The Verge) which shows off Microsoft’s upcoming laptop.

According to the leak, the laptop in question will feature a 13.5-inch PixelSense display and an alcantara keyboard, which for those unfamiliar is the same material used in the Surface Pro 4’s keyboard (one of the options). No word on other features like hardware specs, but presumably we should have those details today assuming that these images are accurate.

From what we can tell though, the laptop appears to sport a SD card reader on its side and it also seems that it will continue to use regular USB ports. This means that if you’re still not quite ready to make the jump to USB-C or deal with a bunch of dongles, the Surface Laptop could be for you.

The laptop in question is also rumored to be powered by Windows 10 S which is apparently Microsoft’s answer to Chrome OS. Given that Microsoft has tried something similar with Windows RT, we’re not sure how Windows 10 S will fare. Either way take it with a grain of salt but check back with us later where hopefully we’ll have the official details.
